Malmö’s outdoor dining spots to keep on your radar

Spring has landed in Malmö – and just like that, it’s outdoor dining season again. Here’s where to grab a table outside, from buzzing squares to laid-back green hideaways.

Lilla Torg – the go-to classic
Lilla Torg just works. Cobblestones, half-timbered houses, and a vibe that never really drops – but hits its stride when the terraces fill up.
Right on the square, Moosehead and Drumbar are obvious choices if you’re in the mood for a lively scene.
A few steps away, you’ll find more favourites lined up: Basta, Lola Maria, MJ’s, Ruth’s, Quan and Johan P – all easy picks with plenty of outdoor seating when the weather plays along.

Drottningtorget – sun, pétanque and moules
If you want more than just a seat in the sun, head to Drottningtorget. At Boulebar, pétanque games roll on while drinks keep coming and the kitchen turns out French-inspired classics. Come for the game, stay for the hang.
You’ll also find Marie Antoinette here, a go-to for wine and relaxed dining. Just around the corner in Sankt Gertrud, San Greal serves champagne in a tucked-away courtyard that feels like a find.

Slottsträdgården – green, calm, central
Need a breather? Slottsträdgården delivers. At Slottsträdgårdens Kafé, you’re surrounded by greenery and blooming flower beds – ideal for a coffee or a long, easy lunch in the sun.
Close by, Malmö Saluhall offers plenty of choice under one roof (plus outdoor seating), and Restaurant Hygge in Slottsstaden is a solid option for something relaxed.

More spots worth checking out
When temperatures rise, places like Matverkstaden at Lokstallarna step up, with a slightly raw, industrial feel in a part of the city that’s on the move. The Bishops Arms Plaza is another safe bet, perfectly placed on the sunny side of Gustav Adolfs torg.

Spring is already doing its thing in Malmö – time to grab a seat outside!
