For tweens & teens 🎧

International street dancers come together at Moriska Paviljongen for Hip Hop Weekend. Take a seat and watch thrilling battles in hip-hop, breaking and popping. On Saturday, dancers aged 8–14 compete in the Kids All Style Battle.

More moves? Dancing with the Dead at Skånes Dansteater explores the mystery of death through dance, music and colourful costumes (ages 10+).

For chills in the dark, Spegeln, a cinema with a bistro twist, screens the horror classic The Thing on 31 October (ages 15+). The following day, the Swedish podcast Spöktimmen comes to Malmö Live to celebrate its tenth anniversary with dark mysteries and new stories (recommended for ages 13+, in Swedish).

Had enough shivers? Swap them for musical goosebumps when Benjamin Ingrosso takes the stage at Malmö Arena (ages 13+). Or sing along to Roxette’s hits in the much-acclaimed Joyride the Musical at Malmö Opera.

For the whole family 🍂

Minigolf gets a spooky makeover at Ribban Green Golf, with autumn treats and ghostly golf throughout 26 October–1 November. Between holes, tuck into pumpkin soup and spooky ice cream.

At Disgusting Food Museum, your courage faces a different kind of test. See, smell and taste food that challenges our ideas of what actually tastes good. Or try floating on air in the wind tunnel at FlyTribe Malmö (ages 5+).

Feeling creative? Moderna Museet Malmö opens its workshop for sculpture-making with materials including cheese wax – yes, the stuff wrapped around your breakfast cheese! And at Form/Design Center, children aged 4 and up can try knotting a traditional rug.

What do you do when your body won’t quite cooperate and everyone else seems to have it all figured out? In Avig at Skånes Dansteater, the feeling of not fitting in becomes dance and humour (ages 6+).

Got a football fan at home? On MFF’s stadium tour for children, peek inside the away team’s dressing room and walk through the players’ tunnel to the touchline at Eleda Stadion. From trophies in the MFF museum to your very own “press conference” in the media centre – curiosity takes the lead! For children aged 8–12, accompanied by an adult. Advance booking required, all in Swedish.

More feats of strength await at the Sweden’s Strongest Man final at Slagthuset. For ice hockey fans, Malmö Redhawks play three home games at Malmö Arena during the break. Why not fuel up next door at Emporia, where the food court lets everyone choose something different and still eat together?

For little ones 📚

Sweden’s autumn break is also a celebration of reading – the perfect time to step into a story. Children’s cultural centre Funnys Äventyr offers play among beloved storybook characters, theatre and a storytelling carousel (in Swedish, English, German, Danish and Arabic). During the Autumn break (26 October to 1 November), this storybook world is open every day, 9am–5pm.

Skräckveckan, a week of spooky fun, returns to Folkets Park with just-scary-enough experiences for different ages. Highlights include a monster rock show with Skräckkabinettet and crafts at Moriskan.

Feeling hungry? 🍴

Clarion Hotel Malmö Live serves a family-friendly Sunday Brunch every Sunday. Fancy a little friendly competition too? Boulebar at Drottningtorget pairs weekend brunch with pétanque, while O’Learys Malmö Entré offers bowling and food for all ages.

At Lilla Torg, get together over pasta at Basta or share Spanish tapas next door at Lola Maria.

Open throughout the break: spooky golf, storybook play, adventurous tastings, indoor skydiving, bowling and pétanque. For Joyride the Musical, see Malmö Opera’s performance calendar.
