Many different sports events are held in Malmö. Listed below are some of Malmö’s famous arenas, teams and various sporting events.
Eleda Stadion
Eleda Stadion, which is popularly known as the Stadion (Stadium). This football arena was opened in 2009 and is the home arena for Malmö FF. Eleda Stadium has had a maximum of 22,500 spectators and is located near Pildammsparken.
Malmö Arena
At Malmö Arena you can experience several different sporting events. Malmö Arena is next to Hyllie station and the shopping center Emporia. Malmö Arena is also the home arena for the Malmö Redhawks.
Malmö IP
Malmö IP is popularly known as Gamla idrottsplatsen (the Old Sports Field). The arenaholds 7,600 spectators and is the home arena for FC Rosengård’s women’s team and the reserve arena for Bunkeflo IF.
Malmö FF
Malmö FF has a men’s team in Allsvenskan and a women’s team in Division 1, and plays regularly in various European tournaments, such as the Champions League. Malmö FFs play their home matches at Eleda Stadium.
FC Rosengård
FC Rosengård has a women’s team in the Allsvenskan which regularly plays in European tournaments such as the Champions League. FC Rosengård’s home matches are played at Malmö IP.
Malmö Redhawks
Malmö Redhawks is an ice hockey team that plays in the SHL. Their home matches are played at Malmö Arena.
Malmö FBC
Malmö FBC is a floorball team that plays in SSL, which is the highest league in Sweden. Their home games are played at Malmö Ice Stadium.
Malmö Open
Malmö Open is a tennis tournament that is usually arranged in July each year and is played in Bokskogen.
Toughest
Thoughest is an annual competition that you can participate in to challenge yourself in a physically demanding obstacle course. If you don’t want to participate yourself, you can cheer on all the participants and join the folk party in the large event area. The different elements of the obstacle course include climbing, water and mud, balance, strength, fitness and much more.
