When Next to Normal enters Malmö Opera on the 15th of March, it is after making a success on stages all over the world, winning the Pulitzer Prize and several Tony Awards.
The plot revolves around the Goodman family living a normal middle-class life. Well, almost normal, since mum Diana has been struggling with bipolar disorder for many years. The show oscillates between Woody Allen-style twisted family drama and a sensitive portrayal of an important subject that many of us can relate to. Laughter, tears, anxiety, sadness, happiness – and co-dependency.
Next to Normal is performed in Swedish with surtitles in English and Swedish. On stage until the 1st of June 2024.
