Garden show, gaming & design

May is best experienced in Malmö!

As soon as the Eurovision glitz has swirled away from Malmö’s streets, new events move into the town where the Swedish summer first begins. The month of May in Malmö delivers gardening, gaming and design on a large scale. Join us!

May 21-24: Nordic Game Sweden 2024
brings together the gaming industry

May 21-24 marks the 20th anniversary of Nordic Game, a leading gaming conference that brings together the top innovators and visionaries in game development. Held, as always, in Sweden’s gaming capital, Nordic Game brings together thousands of video game experts from around the world for inspiring lectures and special events, exhibitions, networking and more, all centred around the very latest in games and game-related products. The conference takes place at Slagthuset.

May 23-26: Southern Sweden Design Days
Malmö’s international design festival

Southern Sweden Design Days – the premier meeting place for architecture, design and crafts in southern Sweden – is organised by Form/Design Center. The fourth edition will be held on May 23-26, 2024, and as usual Malmö will be filled with design exhibitions, seminars and workshops in several locations around the city. The cool old railway workshops Lokstallarna, now home to such places as Matverkstaden, are the festival’s main venue. Take the opportunity to check out Malmö designer Linnea Samia Khalil’s/Pampa’s unique creations worn by Swiss Eurovision winner Nemo on stage throughout the Eurovision Song Contest!

24-26 May: Malmö Garden Show
Green and free inspiration XXL

Malmö’s own equivalent of the Chelsea Flower Show has been organised in the Slottsträdgården since 2011. Highlights of the Malmö Garden Show include the inspiring garden exhibitions, the creative balcony exhibitions with input for your own balcony, the garden market with common and less common plants and items for the garden, home and balcony and – of course – a food court. More? Oh… green workshops, guided tours, sustainable inspiration and knowledge, talks, growing activities, a children’s programme. And more! And of course, admission is free. For both two-legged and four-legged friends.
