Celebrate Love & Music in Malmö

NEWS

Sweets and roses are nice. But what better way to show love than with sweet music? On Valentine's Day – or any other day.

2024 is Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) Year in Malmö, and there are many ways to become a part of the Great Music & Love Party. It all begins at the Malmö Arena in February with the Swedish Song Contest show (Melodifestivalen) and ends with the ESC Final at the very same place, in May. And in between there will be a lot more possibilities to say Thank You For The Music:

On the evening of February 3, the very first glittering Melodifestival (out of six) to select the song that will finally represent Sweden in the ESC, takes place at the Malmö Arena. It’s always a good show, loaded with joy and energy. Two possible sneak peeks will be offered during the rehearsals on February 2 and 3.

On March 1 and 2, the Malmö Live stage presents Alla Älskar Eurovision (Everybody Loves Eurovision): a sparkling music show that ranges from 1956 until today, where ESC 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw and friends perform unforgettable Eurovision hits together with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. If you’re a true fan, you shouldn’t miss this!

The fact that it is 50 years since ABBA won it all in Brighton is yet another reason to celebrate. On April 19, the audience will be able to follow ABBA from that magical night in 1974 to the end of their career in 1982 in THE SHOW – A Tribute to ABBA in the Baltiska Hallen concert hall. The music is performed by the band Waterloo and the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra.

Finally, during “Eurovision Weekbetween May 6 and 11, there will be a series of rehearsals and semi-finals at the Malmö Arena ahead of the final on May 11. In which of the two semi-finals the participating countries will compete will be decided in a live draw from Malmö of course on 30 January 30.
