To be able to visit the set of legendary Sommarlov (“Summer Holiday”) and see its playful hosts in full action is on the bucket list of many young Swedes. And like every year, it’s in the lovely Beijers Park in Malmö that those TV dreams come true. This summer’s morning show runs on Swedish public service television until August 19, and anyone can follow the adventure on site for free between 9 and 11 o’clock on weekdays until August 11. As a tourist, this can be a fun way to meet and interact with Swedish families. Amongst other attractions, the big park also hosts an animal themed playground and a cosy café.
The Malmö magic continues at Funnys Äventyr (Funny’s Adventures) – a modern (2020) cultural centre for kids located close to the Mobilia shopping mall. It’s all about a high-quality, interactive fairytale world with enchanting environments where families can meet up with characters such as Moomin, Alfie Atkins, Alice in Wonderland, the Little Mermaid, Aladdin … only to name a few. If you run out of energy, there’s always the café. And on your way back, some of the magic is for sale in the shop.
